Benefactor Intelligence is founded and led by Tait Arend. The Brief and Signal were developed first inside Elon University’s Office of University Advancement, in service of the institution’s campaign work. Both were productized and stood up as Benefactor Intelligence in 2026, carrying the same editorial standard that produced them.

The standard

The standard starts with editorial discipline. Each Brief is sourced, written, and final. Each Signal alert is triaged before it ships. Sentences are earned. The work is read in the room.

The posture is counsel, not commerce. We do not sell volume. We do not chase scale. The pace is set by the work.

The visual lineage is named: The Economist Intelligence Unit, Goldman Sachs Private Wealth, Presidential Briefing Memos, FT Lex Column, The New Yorker. The conventions of the briefing room are honored. Numbered documents. Sourced lines. Restrained metadata. White space as a deliverable.

We serve relationship integrity, not extraction. The donor is never the data.
